'Elsewhere - a modern opera'
'Elsewhere' is a performance with a circus orchestra. They sit in a room of old chairs, curtains, sewing-machines, televisions, boxes and domestic lamps. Io is strongly influenced by its work with contemporary circus performance. It is a circus orchestra trying on new shoes. ‘Elsewhere’ is a music theatre performance. some of its music is circus jazz. Some is pure cabaret. It looks to entertain in a large and expansive way. Led by Peter Rudolf, songs weave with a fragmented narrative on this small and epic journey.
