Musical performer with experience in clowning

The Honk Project will be devising a new show in January 2009 at Jackson's Lane, and we are looking for a fourth performer to join us We want to find a strong, individual and quirky performer who has had lots of live performance experience in clowning and physical comedy, and who also plays one or more musical instruments to a high standard. Ideally, one of these will be an acoustic bass instrument — e.g. double bass, tuba, sousaphone, baritone sax... Our fourth Honker will be someone who enjoys working in an ensemble, fits in easily with other performers and is open to improvising musically as well as reading dots. And of course, he/she will be excited by the idea of putting clowning and music together. The plan is to devise/rehearse for 3 weeks from 12th January 2009, and then perform the show at several London venues in February.

If you are interested in applying and think you suit our criteria,
please send a cv, a photo and a covering letter
by email to Amy Howard at honkproject@gmail.com
or by post to Chief Honk, 22a Brading Road, London SW2 2AW.

The deadline for all applications is Sunday 7th December 2008
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a workshop audition on the 11th December 2008.

SEEKING CIRCUS ARTISTS FOR FILM PRODUCTION

Staragara, Slovenian independent film company, is seeking Circus artists for the author's film CIRCUS FANTASTICUS, directed by the prominent author Janez Burger and produced by Staragara Productions.

CIRCUS FANTASTICUS is set as an audio-visually fascinating film without dialogues. It is a strongly atmospheric film that tells of destruction and loss, but also of persisting hope which can be gained through absurdity. It is a film about life, death, and the magic that pervades it all.

For casting purposes, we are looking for professional circus artists of all ethnical backgrounds. CIRCUS FANTASTICUS is a Slovene/Polish/Dutch production film, so the casting auditions will be set all over Europe. Since there will be no dialogues in the film, the language is not a barrier. Our main requirements are focused on mastering the skill, creative abilities and strong personal charisma. We are welcoming all fire eaters, fire breathers, tight rope artists, contortionists, acrobats, trampoline artists and jugglers, who can claim these attributes.

Amongst other roles, we are also looking for a small child (2-3 years) who would be able to take part in circus performances, for an elder man (preferably retired circus artist) and for an unicyclist (young man, 13-15 years)
