All kinds of festivals now liven up their programme with street and circus performers. We will list the ones we know, but if you run a festival which doesn't appear in the lists, then please take out a (free) CAF membership and add details of your own event to our lists.

UpSwing Aerial Performance at Watch This Space

From the 26th - 28th August leading UK aerial company Upswing takes over Theatre Square for three days of contemporary urban dance mixed with traditional circus skills.

Each day, we begin with bungee breakin’ workshops, followed by Upswing company members performing short pieces mixing aerial, Chinese pole and hip-hop dance.

At 6.45pm, the chance to see extracts from Loved Up, UpSwing’s bungee breakin’ show specially re-mixed for Watch This Space, and then an open floor for dancing.

1pm - 3pm Beginners Bungee Breakin’ Street Dance Workshops

3.30pm - 4pm Presentations by UpSwing Company members

6pm - 6.30pm Presentations by UpSwing Company members

6.45pm - 7pm Loved Up extracts

7pm - 7.30pm DJ and open floor for free style

Mintfest is an incredibly popular festival which is part of the Kendal International Festival of Street Arts. It features over 200 performers from across the world, in shows which you have never seen before and may never see again. Comments include, "The acts were all amazing, so different, completely inspirational and at times fantastically bizarre", "it was outstanding" and "Mintfest was fabulous - the best event ever!" If you are in and around Kendal that weekend, then you haven't got an excuse not to go!
