CASCAS Project

CASCAS is a European project led by four partners, each of whom provide information and advice on the circus and street arts at a national level. The partners are Subtopia (Sweden), Circus Development Agency (UK), MiramirO (Belgium) and Finnish Circus Information Center (Finland).

The project comprises three elements; a briefing booklet about activity taking place in each art form in the four countries in created; after an open competition, a selected group of street arts and circus professionals across Europe undertake a facilitated tour of one of the Partner’s countries; a book is written by a researcher, who attends each of the four tours. The project runs throughout 2011.

The ROI and UK tour will take place from Saturday 25th June to Sunday 3rd July 2011. A total of fourteen people will comprise the “tour members.” In each location the tour aims to engage with those working in and with street arts and circus, therefore as well as formal “closed sessions” solely for the tour members, there are also a variety of “open engagement sessions” planned for “tour joiners.”

Opt to be a “tour joiner” at one or more locations by typing www.surveymonkey.com/s/cascastour into a web browser. All sessions unless marked ticketed event are free. Places are limited and must be pre-booked.
