Steve Grainger

Over the last sixteen years, we have taken our 'Circus Skills Workshops' to schools, leisure centres, youth groups, play schemes, colleges, carnivals, fetes, and special promotions around the country. The workshop consists of a circus instructor and circus equipment (which can be varied according to age groups). Examples include juggling balls, rings, clubs, scarves, spinning plates, ball-cups, spinning balls, diabolos, flower sticks, and larger equipment such as rola-bola, stilts, fun wheels, pedal go, unicycles, mini-bikes, tightrope, dressing up box and lots more. With lots of equipment available we can take a class at a time, keeping all the children involved at all times.

Circus skills has many benefits to offer teachers and pupils alike. As part of the curriculum, circus can be introduced into Science, Maths, English, Art, Drama, History, Geography etc at all key stages. With a fun day or a 'themed week' we can widen the horizons of your pupils. Circus skills has been shown to be of benefit in encouraging pupil participation in sport, and particularly being non-competitive, in encouraging those who would not normally excel in a sporting activity.
Circus skills facilitates personal development, encouraging participation on an equal basis from both genders and enabling pupils to assume a teaching role, as they eagerly pass on their newly learned skills to others.

We are available for bookings for periods from one day upwards, and can cater for groups of up to 30 according to space, from nursery/reception year onwards. A weekly booking includes a performance by participants, which enables them to demonstrate their newly acquired skills to parents/guardians and the wider community and a resource box which includes the largest mobile circus library in the UK, CD Roms, Videos, DVD’s, project sheets, jigsaws and LOTS more! If you would like further details please contact me through our web site.
