This large chunk of orchestrated chaos is peopled by exhibitionists
infused with a mad bacchanalian courage
Founded 21 years ago, the Cardiff- based NoFit State Circus is the UK's flagship “new circus” troupe and one of the more user-friendly companies of its kind. That generosity of spirit pervades Tabú, a vividly entertaining and tumultuous new promenade production that springs off the back of Gabriel García Marquéz's One Hundred Years of Solitude.
Co-commissioned by the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Tabú is the one constant in an adventurous programme of contemporary and classical music, dance, alternative theatre and children's events. It plays through to the end of the festival before touring to Victoria Park, East London, (May 23-31) and Somerset College, Taunton (July 12-26).

CAN circus be sexy? I mean in both senses.
Is it cool to hang out in an environment you last enjoyed as a kid? Do you lose street cred if you sneak off to the Big Top?
Is there something of the zeitgeist here? Is this real theatre? If it’s Nofit State Circus, the answer is emphatically “yes”.
This is adult circus, so hip it sizzles and so cool it’s hot. No wonder it’s big in London and Europe.
