An ambient, inferno-like space. Images raining down in a firestorm of movement and light. Cut to a flat-out assault. A roaring, rolling score, the crash of explosions, the chopping grunt of fiery emotion; everything is meant to flummox equilibrium and reactions, to splay senses.

This is how NoFit State Circus opens the action. And, trust me, there’s plenty of action. That’s obvious from the off. As soon as you’re in the big top the performers roam around like strange, yet friendly, creatures of the night inviting us into their weird and wonderful world. Make no mistake this ain’t the cutesy-pie, kid-pleasing circus of old. This is a dive into a Dionysian demimonde of dark delights. Part-Moulin Rouge, part-League Of Gentlemen, part-Mad Max, this thunderdome bellows: “Abandon preconception all ye who enter here!”
